Picked up a preloaded trailer from the Indy yard yesterday, then drove to Dayton for an hour break at home. Left towards Columbus for my fuel stop then continued towards Carlisle where I shut down for the night.
Started at 0600am this morning from Carlisle, took 81 North then 78 over to Jersey City and here I am. An hour before appointment time. Now in a door getting unloaded.
Delivered the load on time at Fresh Express in Harrisburg, but they didnt have any empty trailers, dispatcher tried finding me an empty without much luck. Decided to stay over at Walmart next door until further. Got a message later on saying I should pick up a relay that was expected to be there later that night.
The driver on the other load called me and said he was unable to make it up where I was so the load got cancelled and I went to bed after a while. Woke up this morning to another load picking up here at Gloucester City NJ going to Del Monte in Columbus. Went to the Carlisle yard and got an empty, cleaned of the 1 feet snow on the top of it and was ready to roll.
Now I'm sitting here at Del Monte in Gloucester City waiting in line for my load, there must be like 200 trucks here waiting.
Finally I'm able to make an update to my logbook again after several weeks with nothing. I had a few trips since my last update, then i headed home for one week hometime. Which was spent building a deck. Didn't quite finish, but will do next time.
I went back to work on the 27th, picked up a tcalled loaf from the Columbus yard and drove to Gordonsville VA and delivered same day.
Will be shutting down here at the rest area just about an hour east of Columbus.
Will deliver early tomorrow, appointment is 15:30, but it's just a drop so I should be good. Maybe time to stop by at home tomorrow after loading in Troy..
Home time is getting closer, just a couple more days or two trips more and I'm home. Just delivered the Hershey load tonight and now outside Walmart doing my sleeper birth.
Picking up a preloaded trailer tomorrow from Fresh express going to Food Lion in Greencastle. It's just 62 miles, but they are paying me $200 for it which is pretty good.
Then back to Hershey to pick up a load to Mississippi, but it will be dropped at the Columbus yard. Then home!
Finally here at Del Monte Columbus OH delivering my last load after 4 week's on the road. I stopped at home last Saturday for a few hours. This load of bananas is coming from Del Monte in Gloucester City PA.
They seemed pretty busy here today, but I hope they can get me unloaded fast. Then of to the truck wash and home.
Pine apples from Costa Rica to Columbus OH. The ship came in around 2200 and I checked in at 2330. Since all the pine apples has to be unloaded and inspected by US government its needless to say I was too early and my midnight appointment were going to be rescheduled. I went back to the truck parking lot on 33rd street which was a big unorganized mess, to sleep a few hours while I waited.
At 0400 they called me and I could come back and get loaded, sitting in line now waiting for a door at Del Monte.
Well then I'm back home again after a pretty short and miserable day at work. I woke up together with my wife this morning and was getting everything ready for another 3 weeks on the road. It all started well, managed to find a pretty new empty trailer at the yard in Columbus too. Went to the Cloverfield Cold Storage and got loaded for Dunkin Donuts in NJ. Halfway through the load I got a phone call that I had to bring my loaded trailer back to the yard, another driver needed it cause he was going home. I went back to the yard and dropped my trailer and started waiting for a new load. After a couple of hours I got a new load with same shipper and same receiver, but appointment next day.
In the Columbus yard now waiting for my 7am appointment in the morning. Loaded up at Merchandise Warehousing in Indianapolis. Also did my 50,000 miles road check today.
